Swallows of Spring.*

SWALLOWS OF SPRING

Lovely,
Indeed,
Is the scene that meets the eye for them?
Who stands at the riverbank at sunset hours?
When the placid stream at the feet glows with glittering hues of evening,
Where water lilies guarded by forms of beauty gleam through the mystifying light,
Willows nourishing in sweetened waters fountain from which life’s stream proceed,
There you’ll find a spring of swallows,
In celestial attendance of ancestors past,
Whose magical breaths inherits silhouettes of shadows,
In sweet perfume.
